David's work cuts across strategic consulting, executive education, and facilitation. A sample of his work includes:
- Creating and teaching numerous executive development programs over 12 years for a $25 billion global technology company. The flagship annual strategy program was delivered globally each year from 2010 through 2016, both in the classroom and online as a MOOC.
- Leading board of directors retreats for major arts institutions, including the Los Angeles Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Opera Philadelphia, Cincinnati Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, Sarasota Opera, Austin Opera, and Music-Theatre Group, reassessing the organizations’ missions, strategies, and priorities
- Designing and leading two-day “exploration events” for the staff of the US Navy’s think tank, the Strategic Studies Group, each year from 2005 through 2012
- Creating and teaching courses at Harvard University: “Strategic Business Insight” (online, Fall 2016 and 2017), a graduate-level course in business strategy, and “The Economics of Decision Making” (Fall 2009), a mixed graduate/undergraduate course in behavioral economics.
